WANT TO HELP?We welcome help from both INDIVIDUALS and ORGANISATIONS. A list of fundraising ideas can be found on our IDEAS PAGE. HOW INDIVIDUALS CAN HELPWATTS EARP - The Bootleg Tapes
TRIBUTE TO THE KING CD
There are a variety of ways that an individual can help the charity and make a big difference to the lives of very sick children: RAISED LOCALLY, SPENT LOCALLYThe Teddy Charity tries to ensure that the majority of money raised in an area will be spent on equipment for that same area. INDIVIDUALS WITH A BUSY SCHEDULEThrough spreading the word about the charity (including at work), supporting any local events and, if you're planning to send someone a gift, using the www.balloonsbypost.com service. Or, of course, sending a donation! THINKING ABOUT BEING A FUNDRAISER?We need you desperately! But we promise not to swamp you - we've all heard of charities where there are two people doing all the work watched by a committee of twenty! As a result, we have what we call a Singular Approach; local volunteers are only asked to do ONE fundraising event a year - coffee morning, boot sale, open garden, Valentine's Dance, whatever. We have a selection of materials in our resources section to help you. Please let us know of any event you are running so that we can announce it on the website. TEDDY CHARITY AREA REPRESENTATIVEAs you are by now aware, The Teddy Charity is greatly expanding its area of operation to cover the whole of East Anglia. This is a vast territory and we cannot supply all the support that fundraisers require with our current location and resources. We badly need people to act as our representatives for their area. This would involve giving occasional talks about the good work we do and other basic support duties such as photo calls. We are grateful for any help we receive so even if you can only assist with one aspect, please get in touch. HOW ORGANISATIONS CAN HELPBecause we have a good idea - thanks to our community nurse group Wish Lists - of what is immediately wanted in each area we can mix and match to virtually any sum you raise from your own organised event. Alternatively, you could choose a particular item of equipment at a fixed price for sponsorship. A variation on this would be to have a Partnership Funding, whereby the organisation contributes an additional sum to every £1 raised by a consumer group (this could be 50-50 matched funding or some other agreed ratio) to a fixed maximum. In this way, say, a firm can link in with its customer/user base to develop even stronger loyalty bonds. The Teddy Charity would be delighted to discuss any initiative, and would ensure that the majority of any money raised would be spent on equipment for use in that area, with acknowledgement publicity. |
